It all happened on 1st September 1957 in village called Tanjong Pinang.

When the trishaw took Lin Go Tong from the Coffee shop back to his house, it got stuck in the mud on the dirt road. Go Tong came down from the trishaw and helped to push it out, while his little boy, Lin Peh, was left sitting in the trishaw. Go Tong was soaked and completely covered by mud by the time he and the trishaw Ah Pek manage to push the trishaw over the mud. When they finally reached home Go Tong realized something was different on that day because there were 3 policemen in the house.

The Lin family owns the only coffee shop (cum illegal casino) in Tanjong Pinang and Go Tong is known to all the residence at the little village as Uncle Lin. A migrant from China, Go Tong is happily married to Untie Lin with four sons: Lin Liong Sick (12), Lin King Yik (10), Lin Kick Siang (8), Lin Peh (6).
